I build these stone steps from mica schist, a relative of granite. They will last far longer than we will. The first row of photos is of a new house in Dorset, Vermont, where my crew and I worked over a period of 28 months in from 1994 to 1996. We did all the stonework for the steps, patio, chimneys, walls, and the brickwork for the fireplaces and walkways in the gardens.
