Fireplaces Not only do my fireplaces warm the soul, they are functional cookers. I can install iron swing cranes that hold pots, and irons that have grills. You can even have a brick oven along the side, to try your hand at pies and pizzas. |

This 5½' x 6' walk-in fireplace has both a cooking oven and a crane. The fireplace was built for a new addition in an old house in Chester, Vermont; the owners wanted the addition to match the age of the original house. The 2' wide by 7½' long granite lintel came from the property.
| Another cooking fireplace with a side oven and cooking crane. To celebrate the completion of a mammoth construction job of a house in Dorset, Vermont, we inaugurated the baking oven. In this 3' diameter oven, we cooked about 40 pizzas in 1½ hours. |

For this fireplace, I used antique brick. The fireplace is in a house dating from the late 1700s; it was moved from Enfield, Connecticut, to Dorset, Vermont, then finally to Manchester, Vermont.
Above, two of my workers prepare the fireplace for the very heavy stone lintel for the fireplace above. Next page |
